It all began when our founder Fritz Honsel cast liquid aluminium into shape over 100 years ago. Today, Martinrea Honsel has an unequalled portfolio of competencies in light metals processing. Casting in very different processes, rolling, machining and assembly. And with our own specialized engineering units and our own die shop.

This portfolio, our enthusiasm for aluminium as well as our long-standing experience account for our leading role as a development partner and supplier for industrial light weight solutions. Whether for engine, transmission, suspension or body-in-white in the automotive sector, solutions for engineering, semi-finished products or components for consumer goods – together with our customers, our development and engineering teams in the respective competence fields design innovative, efficient solutions in less than no time. Due to our long-standing experience we select the optimal material and production processes.

To get the maximum out of a material and make the components as light as possible, we at Martinrea Honsel use all the engineering and simulation tools established on the market. CATIA, Pro/E, MAGMA SOFT_® – our competitive advantage is also in our comprehensive experience. Because the more precisely the parameters of these tools are set, the more reliable are the development and simulation results. So prototypes are created at Martinrea Honsel in an especially short timeframe. Because of the normally reduced effort needed to rework dies and tools, series production can also ramp up fast. And that with all methods applied.

In series production we support our customers in optimizing their processes and in shifting the manufacturing depth to one of our sites on request. Whether cast or rolled, there is almost no product that Martinrea Honsel cannot machine. We mill, polish, coat, bend, clean and test for final dimensions. Modules can also be assembled at Martinrea Honsel. Thanks to our certified and fast quality control loops, we are in a position to deliver 100% good parts straight to our customers’ lines.

As an industrial company conscious of its social and environmental responsibility, we of course also design our processes to be forward-looking. In the last ten years, for example, we have realized permanent savings in our specific consumption of energy and operating resources. Relative to the gross tonnage, for example, we have reduced our natural gas consumption by about 50%. We recycle filings produced in final machining and put them back into the manufacturing process in our own remelting plant. By low-lubricant milling of components we also relieve the environment without sacrificing quality. Technology leadership and environmental compatibility are anything but mutually exclusive at Martinrea Honsel.
