32 young people started their apprenticeship at Martinrea Honsel

On September 1, 2016, 32 young women and men started their apprenticeship at Martinrea Honsel Germany. Initially the company trains “Technical product designers”. In total 90 persons currently take the opportunity to be trained in a broad range of job profiles.  

32 young women and men, thereof 30 in technical and 2 in commerical job profiles, started their apprenticeship with Martinrea Honsel on September 1, 2016. „With a profound apprenticeship at Martinrea Honsel you set the cornerstone for a career with promising perspectives“, Dieter Berndt, Head of HR development at Martinrea Honsel, said during the welcome event in the communication center of the company. „In the casting industry, experts are more required than ever. For us it is a competitive advantage to train young people with the latest trends and technologies from the beginning“, said Berndt. The event was also joined by 15 apprentices of other companies from the region are that will be trained at the Martinrea Honsel facilities. 

With in total eleven job profiles, Martinrea Honsel offers a broad range of apprenticeship opportunities. These include seven technical professions as mechatronic technician, industrial mechanic, foundry mechanic with focus on high and low pressure die casting, toolmaker, cutting machine operator and electronics technician as well as stamping and shaping mechanic and IT specialist with focus on system integration. For the first time, Martinrea Honsel trains two product designers with focus on component design. Product designers engineer parts and dies on request of Martinrea Honsel’s customers from the automotive industry. At the beginning of the apprenticeship they are educated within a basic metal training. Later on the training comprises the creation of 3D data with help of CAD systems. In addition, two commercial job profiles are offered: industrial business manager and Bachelor of Arts.
